A quick Walk Before the Barber
For October’s entry into the 12 Months on Film Project, I found myself in Burlington, Ontario. I had an appointment for a much-needed haircut. For a good ten years now, my barber of choice has been the Village Cigar and Barber Shop. I’ve had a chance to use all three locations, but the one that works best for me right now is the original location in Burlington. So I had a few hours to spare before (and after) the appointment, so I took along a couple of cameras, including the Miranda Sensorex with the WLF and 35mm f/2.8 lens and loaded it up with a roll of OG Fujifilm Neopan Acros 100.
Now I usually would add some commentary to my images, but you know, it was just a nice chill walk in the mid-morning, so here are my nine favourite photos from the walk.
I will mention that using the waist-level finder on the Miranda is a lot of fun, and I’m glad I added it to my kit. The 35mm f/2.8 is stunning, which doesn’t surprise me because Miranda lenses were always better than their cameras. A big shout-out to Mike Eckman for sending these two pieces over to me to round out my system.
The Sensorex was my mom's first 35mm camera and she used the waist level too. Good to know it still stands up against later cameras. I still have hers... somewhere ...
Enjoyable images from what looked like an enjoyable walk. Those wlf's are fun to use.. until you want portrait orientation..😵💫😁. How is the one on the Miranda for ckarity? The one on my Exa 1a is lovely and bright, even with the lowly little Meritar lens on board. (Mm, it's probably about tine that camera had a run out again..)
